It's almost 2010

Well the kids are at Grandma Cheryl's house for a few days and I am debating whether or not I want to drive over to Yakima or not with the threat of snow so I figured I should hop on here and update my intriguing blog. We had a wonderful Christmas and the kids got way too many great gifts and we got to see a bunch of family and I haven't thrown up in a few days so we are all doing great. Shane got to take yesterday (Monday) off so we had a nice long weekend and ended up getting a stove and chest freezer at Sears. I guess those long hours at UPS literally do pay off. We have almost stopped using credit cards (thank you Dave Ramsey, one day we will be debt free) so although it was painful to hand over that much cash, we don't have to pay a single cent of interest on our purchase. The stove we have before was probably around 20 year old and a nice off-while/yellowish color so this new sleek flat top while one sure brings the kitchen up to date. Who knew getting new appliances could make me so happy?
As for the baby we had some interesting news at my ultrasound. No, we can't tell the sex of the baby yet, but according to measurements I'm not quite as far along as I thought and my new due date is now 7/7/10. Back to week 13 I go. Everything looks fine I just get to be pregnant for a little longer than I thought. So as a refresher they say the baby is the size of a peach now, about 3 inches and almost an ounce in weight. In the ultrasound picture it looks like the baby's head is about as big as it's body but supposedly now the head is a little more proportionate and about 1/3 the size of the body. Man this little guy or gal is growing fast!!

Comments

  1. Is the baby waving in the ultrasound or does he/she have a pinnochio nose? LOL

  2. That is an arm and on the original ultrasound you can even see little toe bones. I can't wait to see the next ultrasound, the baby should look like a real baby then!!

Keeping up with the Sadlers

Lincoln favorite new past time, listen closely for "Dada"  Dylan had cowboy day at school and could dress up and meet "real cowboys". We live in a hick town and his school was having an assembly about the cowboy way , or having character. Yes, Lincoln's bib is purplish, but it says I Love my Sister so it's ok :)  Cute big boy outfit Auntie Jackie got Lincoln, while sticking out his tongue. I think it looks like a little pickle. Weird, another tongue shot, he does it a lot. While playing with a plush orange (like the fruit) it sort of landed like this and I thought it looked a little like a bikini top and snapped a pic. Hey you have to have fun with life right?

Soaking it all In

Because I have a bad habit of zoning out when the tv is on, I've turned it off and told myself it can't come on until a rerun of a show I wanted to see comes on at 11. I can't stay up late so I'm trying to watch shows that will rerun, which is most of them outside of the basic cable channels. So obviously instead of working on my homework about Intercultural Crossings in Indian Music while Lincoln is taking a nap, I'm on here updating you on the trivial matters of my day. A friend told me an interesting revelation the other day. "When you have a child that is an infant you are the most physically exhausted. When you have a child that is just entering school aged you are the most mentally exhausted. When you have a teenager you are the most emotionally exhausted." So the way I see it, since I have one in each category I'm basically the most exhausted I'm going to get and since I'm seeming to do ok, it's only going to get easier from here. Y...

New Moves

So I officially started feeling the baby moving around this week, Tuesday to be exact, and now I feel dancing all the time. It's pretty weird because it has been so long since I've housed a fetus and I know no one else can feel it from the outside, but it's really real. The picture I took on the left shows me holding a photo of a 17week baby to scale. It's hard to imagine something that big is fitting inside of me already :) We had the "Mom" talk today inside the Dollar Store. Danielle asked me if it was ok if she could call me Mom. She says I treat her the way a mom should treat her daughter and that made me so proud. I am so glad that even though we have our daily and weekly ups and downs that our family unit is really coming together.
