Shopping Weekend

Danielle has Tolo coming up on Saturday the 16th and I am learning what a drag our little town of Ellensburg can be for finding a dress. Most of Saturday we spent looking at every single clothing store (ok there are only like 6 but still it took a while) then today we decided to try Yakima. Since it's over a 1/2 hour drive and the truck is definitely not gas friendly, Shane drove the Kia so we all went together. After 4 stores there we finally found her perfect dress. Cute cute, I'll have pictures for that next week but for now I have to take it in a little bit. They only had size medium and she is so tiny, but it shouldn't be too difficult with my handy sewing machine I got for Christmas. Dylan behaved like a gentleman and we even got to have a nice early dinner at Appleby's. The baby loves Caesar salads :) I also got to run into Old Navy and buy 2 brand new shirts and a perfect undershirt so I am excited. Almost all of my other maternity clothes so far are borrowed which is fine, but getting new clothes is so fun!! I've got my doctor's check up tomorrow so I can check in with the little one and also ask her if my blood pressure is ok. I sort of fainted yesterday. I think I was standing too long with my knees locked but it was crazy. I don't think I want that to happen again.

Keeping up with the Sadlers

Lincoln favorite new past time, listen closely for "Dada"  Dylan had cowboy day at school and could dress up and meet "real cowboys". We live in a hick town and his school was having an assembly about the cowboy way , or having character. Yes, Lincoln's bib is purplish, but it says I Love my Sister so it's ok :)  Cute big boy outfit Auntie Jackie got Lincoln, while sticking out his tongue. I think it looks like a little pickle. Weird, another tongue shot, he does it a lot. While playing with a plush orange (like the fruit) it sort of landed like this and I thought it looked a little like a bikini top and snapped a pic. Hey you have to have fun with life right?

Overnight Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls

I've been tweaking this overnight sourdough cinnamon roll recipe over the last few months and I think it's finally, exactly, the way I like it. We love this for slow weekend mornings, to take to family and friends, or for special holiday get togethers. It's also the same recipe I use when making them to sell locally. I've been keeping it under wraps for no reason in particular but it's just too good not to share.  I don't have a reliable kitchen scale so this recipe uses good old fashion cups and goes a lot by the feeling of the dough. It will get messy but don't be discouraged if it doesn't turn out just right the first time. No matter the flop, these cinnamon rolls will never disappoint taste wise.  The PDF printable can be found here or you can keep reading.  Overnight Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls  The night before you want to make rolls: 8 Tablespoons cold butter, shredded (a whole stick) 2 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose or bread flour  1/2 cup sourdou...

What the Happenings

Lincoln tried out Play-Doh for the first time a while ago. He really liked breaking it up into tiny pieces and trying to put it back in the container. And he didn't try to put it in his mouth too many times. As you can tell by the picture he got tired out from all the creativity pretty quickly so we'll try it again when he has a little more vigor for the squishy stuff. I think this picture is from our drive over to Richland a few weeks ago. We headed over there to visit Shane's grandma and the a bbq at his brothers house. The kids love pictures of themselves and Danielle took this picture of the both of them.  Waiting to get Shane's winter tires on the jeep, Lincoln had fun checking out the giant tires at Les Schwab. There was one big enough he could crawl into but he wasn't a fan of being shoved in there. He loves to climb and explore and get himself stuck, but only on his own accord. He does not like authority trying to tell him what to do (gee I wonder where ...
