Rolling Around and My Little Rascals

Lincoln playing with one of his favorite toys a stuffed spider while rolling around and being silly.
A few minutes later he's scooted himself almost all the way to the tv, watch out crawling is on it's way soon. Time to baby-proof. I can't believe he's over six months old and almost 21 pounds and 27 1/2 inches. I call him my little monster. As soon as said monster is sleeping through the night (which is getting closer and closer, maybe if I pray a little harder) he'll be bunking with big bro. I've spent like hours and hours cleaning (two grocery bags full of garbage and dust bunnies) and rearranging and organizing Dylan's room to try to make room for a crib and all the new toys they both got for Christmas. Unfortunately we also found out that Dylan's old crib got broken in one of my moves so Lincoln will be in the pack'n'play until we decide what to do next. I don't want to buy a crib for like 6 months of use but I'm not sure if it will be weird to keep him in the pack'n'play until he's ready for a big boy bed. Plus I want to use all of the adorable bedding that my sister made for Lincoln. Decisions, decisions.
Ok so I'm not sure if this is as funny as I pictured or imagined when I set it up, but here is a picture of my "litter" haha. We got a big box that the diapers and wipes came in (we think it's cheaper to older online than buy from any store here in town) and I just thought it was funny. Too bad I wouldn't actually give them away, I know they're worth something.

Keeping up with the Sadlers

Lincoln favorite new past time, listen closely for "Dada"  Dylan had cowboy day at school and could dress up and meet "real cowboys". We live in a hick town and his school was having an assembly about the cowboy way , or having character. Yes, Lincoln's bib is purplish, but it says I Love my Sister so it's ok :)  Cute big boy outfit Auntie Jackie got Lincoln, while sticking out his tongue. I think it looks like a little pickle. Weird, another tongue shot, he does it a lot. While playing with a plush orange (like the fruit) it sort of landed like this and I thought it looked a little like a bikini top and snapped a pic. Hey you have to have fun with life right?

Overnight Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls

I've been tweaking this overnight sourdough cinnamon roll recipe over the last few months and I think it's finally, exactly, the way I like it. We love this for slow weekend mornings, to take to family and friends, or for special holiday get togethers. It's also the same recipe I use when making them to sell locally. I've been keeping it under wraps for no reason in particular but it's just too good not to share.  I don't have a reliable kitchen scale so this recipe uses good old fashion cups and goes a lot by the feeling of the dough. It will get messy but don't be discouraged if it doesn't turn out just right the first time. No matter the flop, these cinnamon rolls will never disappoint taste wise.  The PDF printable can be found here or you can keep reading.  Overnight Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls  The night before you want to make rolls: 8 Tablespoons cold butter, shredded (a whole stick) 2 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose or bread flour  1/2 cup sourdou...

New Moves

So I officially started feeling the baby moving around this week, Tuesday to be exact, and now I feel dancing all the time. It's pretty weird because it has been so long since I've housed a fetus and I know no one else can feel it from the outside, but it's really real. The picture I took on the left shows me holding a photo of a 17week baby to scale. It's hard to imagine something that big is fitting inside of me already :) We had the "Mom" talk today inside the Dollar Store. Danielle asked me if it was ok if she could call me Mom. She says I treat her the way a mom should treat her daughter and that made me so proud. I am so glad that even though we have our daily and weekly ups and downs that our family unit is really coming together.
