Baby Bunching

Have you heard of this term before? Baby bunching I think officially is when you have two (or more) babies less than two years apart. And usually people do this on purpose. When I searched the term two under two this new phenomenon came up. I thought I was pretty much in the know on baby and parenting terms since this is pretty much what my life is centered around, but this was a new term to me. Well why would I be searching this you may ask? We have a little surprise:

The "silly face"

In case you can't read the writing on Lincoln's shirt it says "Big Bro Lincoln; Arriving Spring 2012" That's right, Lincoln will be a big brother this Spring. Or in other words, we are having another baby! I know I announced it to family, on facebook and at MOPS a few weeks ago but time is sure flying by too fast. Sorry blog readers you are fairly low on the info totem pole this time around. I am already in my second trimester which means that the baby is due right around May 13th. Right between Mother's Day and Memorial Day. Morning sickness while taking care of a separate baby (ok toddler) is something I definitely didn't think about but luckily I'm getting through it. Lincoln and our newest addition will be about 22 months apart in age which I'm hearing that while when they are young it is a lot of work that they grow up to be best of friends so I am looking forward to that.
So now our family is moving into a few new categories. Along with being a blended family, a step-parent, a mom to a high schooler, a mom to a grade schooler, a mom to a toddler, a stay-at-home-mom, a wife and any other ones I'm missing... we are now moving into the category of two under 2 and officially becoming a "big" family. Mini van here we come!

  1. Well, I am quite excited for you guys! So many little ones! The holidays are going to be fun! Maybe we'll decided to "baby bunch" too and we'll just have lots of little ones running around when we all get together. Woohoo on the minivan! Love you sis.

Keeping up with the Sadlers

Lincoln favorite new past time, listen closely for "Dada"  Dylan had cowboy day at school and could dress up and meet "real cowboys". We live in a hick town and his school was having an assembly about the cowboy way , or having character. Yes, Lincoln's bib is purplish, but it says I Love my Sister so it's ok :)  Cute big boy outfit Auntie Jackie got Lincoln, while sticking out his tongue. I think it looks like a little pickle. Weird, another tongue shot, he does it a lot. While playing with a plush orange (like the fruit) it sort of landed like this and I thought it looked a little like a bikini top and snapped a pic. Hey you have to have fun with life right?

Soaking it all In

Because I have a bad habit of zoning out when the tv is on, I've turned it off and told myself it can't come on until a rerun of a show I wanted to see comes on at 11. I can't stay up late so I'm trying to watch shows that will rerun, which is most of them outside of the basic cable channels. So obviously instead of working on my homework about Intercultural Crossings in Indian Music while Lincoln is taking a nap, I'm on here updating you on the trivial matters of my day. A friend told me an interesting revelation the other day. "When you have a child that is an infant you are the most physically exhausted. When you have a child that is just entering school aged you are the most mentally exhausted. When you have a teenager you are the most emotionally exhausted." So the way I see it, since I have one in each category I'm basically the most exhausted I'm going to get and since I'm seeming to do ok, it's only going to get easier from here. Y...

New Moves

So I officially started feeling the baby moving around this week, Tuesday to be exact, and now I feel dancing all the time. It's pretty weird because it has been so long since I've housed a fetus and I know no one else can feel it from the outside, but it's really real. The picture I took on the left shows me holding a photo of a 17week baby to scale. It's hard to imagine something that big is fitting inside of me already :) We had the "Mom" talk today inside the Dollar Store. Danielle asked me if it was ok if she could call me Mom. She says I treat her the way a mom should treat her daughter and that made me so proud. I am so glad that even though we have our daily and weekly ups and downs that our family unit is really coming together.
