The process of eating

Learning how to self feed was quite the process for Warner. He loves food but never really liked me feeding him. He is a self-started, an independent spirit and is always doggone hungry! Shane took a bunch of pictures of him eating a smoothie the other day and in each picture you can almost read his thoughts through the expression in his eyes. Get in my belly.

Finishing up drinking straight from the cup.

Hum maybe I'll try a spoon.

Gotta get this stuff.

Not sure if it will fit in my mouth, better open wider.

Yum so good.

Get that camera out of my face, I'm eating.

Warner also thinks he likes coffee. So much so that he want just a drink from my coffee all the time. He once came walking into the kitchen from the living room sipping my coffee. (fortunately it was lukewarm by this time) Not a drop on him, I was pretty impressed he got it off the window ledge behind the sofa, climbed down and walked into the kitchen. So impressed that I forgot all about it until I sat down again. Right into a massive puddle of coffee. Since I was already wet I just sat there for a few more moments, trying not to curse my curious toddler, soaking up what I could with my jeans. Oh the life of a child. So innocent, so much trouble.

Keeping up with the Sadlers

Lincoln favorite new past time, listen closely for "Dada"  Dylan had cowboy day at school and could dress up and meet "real cowboys". We live in a hick town and his school was having an assembly about the cowboy way , or having character. Yes, Lincoln's bib is purplish, but it says I Love my Sister so it's ok :)  Cute big boy outfit Auntie Jackie got Lincoln, while sticking out his tongue. I think it looks like a little pickle. Weird, another tongue shot, he does it a lot. While playing with a plush orange (like the fruit) it sort of landed like this and I thought it looked a little like a bikini top and snapped a pic. Hey you have to have fun with life right?

Soaking it all In

Because I have a bad habit of zoning out when the tv is on, I've turned it off and told myself it can't come on until a rerun of a show I wanted to see comes on at 11. I can't stay up late so I'm trying to watch shows that will rerun, which is most of them outside of the basic cable channels. So obviously instead of working on my homework about Intercultural Crossings in Indian Music while Lincoln is taking a nap, I'm on here updating you on the trivial matters of my day. A friend told me an interesting revelation the other day. "When you have a child that is an infant you are the most physically exhausted. When you have a child that is just entering school aged you are the most mentally exhausted. When you have a teenager you are the most emotionally exhausted." So the way I see it, since I have one in each category I'm basically the most exhausted I'm going to get and since I'm seeming to do ok, it's only going to get easier from here. Y...

New Moves

So I officially started feeling the baby moving around this week, Tuesday to be exact, and now I feel dancing all the time. It's pretty weird because it has been so long since I've housed a fetus and I know no one else can feel it from the outside, but it's really real. The picture I took on the left shows me holding a photo of a 17week baby to scale. It's hard to imagine something that big is fitting inside of me already :) We had the "Mom" talk today inside the Dollar Store. Danielle asked me if it was ok if she could call me Mom. She says I treat her the way a mom should treat her daughter and that made me so proud. I am so glad that even though we have our daily and weekly ups and downs that our family unit is really coming together.
