Composition and Crackin' Up

I working on it and trying to get better: Composition, using the Rule of Thirds, Computer Editing Techniques... all interesting. I am actually learning a lot, I just don't get out of the house much so trying to find interesting subjects that the class won't get tired of plus that meet the guidelines is my main challenge.
Dylan didn't want to be a model for this picture but I think it turned out better that way anyway. The only thing I would have changed is my angle a little bit so you don't look up his little snotty nose :)
Naked crawling adventures I just had to catch. I love the extra little rolls on the back of his thighs. Yes he is still doing the crab/commando crawl, using his toes and left arm to pull himself along, what a goof.
The boys in their footed pjs.
Danielle and friend Rylan going to prom.
Dylan checking out how high the creek near our house has risen since the weather is warming up.
Mini photographer Dylan with his new (to him!) 35mm camera with "real film" in it. Can't wait to see what those pictures turn out like.
The boys hanging out on a nice day in Kittitas.

And finally the newest finding in the Sadler house, pulling himself up to a standing position. Ah yes he can do it at the couch, in his pack'n'play, by the dishwasher and washing machine, by the toilet (he's a fast crawler what can I say he just got close) and so many more. It sure makes trying to fold a load of laundry fun! He is so unsteady but fearless that he has bumps and bruises all over, mainly a big egg right above his left eye. No I don't beat my kid, he's just a boy! An active, happy, almost unsick little 10 month old who, much to my dismay, will probably be walking in the next few weeks.

Keeping up with the Sadlers

Lincoln favorite new past time, listen closely for "Dada"  Dylan had cowboy day at school and could dress up and meet "real cowboys". We live in a hick town and his school was having an assembly about the cowboy way , or having character. Yes, Lincoln's bib is purplish, but it says I Love my Sister so it's ok :)  Cute big boy outfit Auntie Jackie got Lincoln, while sticking out his tongue. I think it looks like a little pickle. Weird, another tongue shot, he does it a lot. While playing with a plush orange (like the fruit) it sort of landed like this and I thought it looked a little like a bikini top and snapped a pic. Hey you have to have fun with life right?

Overnight Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls

I've been tweaking this overnight sourdough cinnamon roll recipe over the last few months and I think it's finally, exactly, the way I like it. We love this for slow weekend mornings, to take to family and friends, or for special holiday get togethers. It's also the same recipe I use when making them to sell locally. I've been keeping it under wraps for no reason in particular but it's just too good not to share.  I don't have a reliable kitchen scale so this recipe uses good old fashion cups and goes a lot by the feeling of the dough. It will get messy but don't be discouraged if it doesn't turn out just right the first time. No matter the flop, these cinnamon rolls will never disappoint taste wise.  The PDF printable can be found here or you can keep reading.  Overnight Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls  The night before you want to make rolls: 8 Tablespoons cold butter, shredded (a whole stick) 2 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose or bread flour  1/2 cup sourdou...

What the Happenings

Lincoln tried out Play-Doh for the first time a while ago. He really liked breaking it up into tiny pieces and trying to put it back in the container. And he didn't try to put it in his mouth too many times. As you can tell by the picture he got tired out from all the creativity pretty quickly so we'll try it again when he has a little more vigor for the squishy stuff. I think this picture is from our drive over to Richland a few weeks ago. We headed over there to visit Shane's grandma and the a bbq at his brothers house. The kids love pictures of themselves and Danielle took this picture of the both of them.  Waiting to get Shane's winter tires on the jeep, Lincoln had fun checking out the giant tires at Les Schwab. There was one big enough he could crawl into but he wasn't a fan of being shoved in there. He loves to climb and explore and get himself stuck, but only on his own accord. He does not like authority trying to tell him what to do (gee I wonder where ...
