It's gettin' hot in here

Wow, it's amazing how hot 75degrees feels to me these days. I'm wearing a light dress and sweating like a sumo wrestler. Yikes! I'm just going to try to enjoy the sunshine and not curse the heat since I've been waiting all winter for this. Anyway at 32 weeks all is good. I haven't gained much weight since my last appointment but hey that's ok because I am still growing good. I am at the point where I have to go in for a check up every two weeks for the next month and then every week after that until little boy is born. It seems as though I'm measuring a little small but when have I not. Every time my doctor is a little concerned I have to go in for an ultrasound but the baby is growing fine. I just have a long body and will always measure small. I'm not worried but it is fun to keep counting down to meet this little guy. He must be getting cramped in there. The doctor said it seems like his head is down and his little butt is kind of to the left of my belly button and I keep feeling kicks to the right side so this makes sense. Dylan started swim lessons again this week and Danielle finished up Softball (a banquet is supposed to happen but I have yet to hear an official date) so the business isn't going to end here. Hot hot hot. I forgot it was hot for a bit but now I've got to go make some dinner.

Keeping up with the Sadlers

Lincoln favorite new past time, listen closely for "Dada"  Dylan had cowboy day at school and could dress up and meet "real cowboys". We live in a hick town and his school was having an assembly about the cowboy way , or having character. Yes, Lincoln's bib is purplish, but it says I Love my Sister so it's ok :)  Cute big boy outfit Auntie Jackie got Lincoln, while sticking out his tongue. I think it looks like a little pickle. Weird, another tongue shot, he does it a lot. While playing with a plush orange (like the fruit) it sort of landed like this and I thought it looked a little like a bikini top and snapped a pic. Hey you have to have fun with life right?

Soaking it all In

Because I have a bad habit of zoning out when the tv is on, I've turned it off and told myself it can't come on until a rerun of a show I wanted to see comes on at 11. I can't stay up late so I'm trying to watch shows that will rerun, which is most of them outside of the basic cable channels. So obviously instead of working on my homework about Intercultural Crossings in Indian Music while Lincoln is taking a nap, I'm on here updating you on the trivial matters of my day. A friend told me an interesting revelation the other day. "When you have a child that is an infant you are the most physically exhausted. When you have a child that is just entering school aged you are the most mentally exhausted. When you have a teenager you are the most emotionally exhausted." So the way I see it, since I have one in each category I'm basically the most exhausted I'm going to get and since I'm seeming to do ok, it's only going to get easier from here. Y...

Overnight Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls

I've been tweaking this overnight sourdough cinnamon roll recipe over the last few months and I think it's finally, exactly, the way I like it. We love this for slow weekend mornings, to take to family and friends, or for special holiday get togethers. It's also the same recipe I use when making them to sell locally. I've been keeping it under wraps for no reason in particular but it's just too good not to share.  I don't have a reliable kitchen scale so this recipe uses good old fashion cups and goes a lot by the feeling of the dough. It will get messy but don't be discouraged if it doesn't turn out just right the first time. No matter the flop, these cinnamon rolls will never disappoint taste wise.  The PDF printable can be found here or you can keep reading.  Overnight Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls  The night before you want to make rolls: 8 Tablespoons cold butter, shredded (a whole stick) 2 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose or bread flour  1/2 cup sourdou...
