Good News on the Western Front

Fortunately what can go right, did go right.

Monday morning Shane had his court appointment for the ticket he received during the on the job accident. After hearing case after case where the judge didn't move an inch, Shane's case came up. After hearing about the incident and from our lawyer he decided that Shane "Did Not Commit" said infraction of being negligent and he should not have been written the ticket. Score one for team Sadler.

That night we drove over to the Westside (what we Ellensburg people call anywhere over the other side of Snoqualmie Pass) and early (very.early.) the next morning Shane flew down to Reno and within two hours of landing had his panel meeting. The big meeting between his union representative and the big wigs at UPS. I don't know if getting the ticket dropped helped much but they only met for a few minutes (according to the story I heard) and basically said "Don't let it happen again, You start back on Monday."

So did you catch that? There was no ticket, and he has his job back. Yay! Stability, Insurance, Retirement... What can Brown do for you? We are back in business. Hopefully he's ready to go back to the daily grind after being off for over two months. I guess it makes you really appreciate what you have.

Keeping up with the Sadlers

Lincoln favorite new past time, listen closely for "Dada" Dylan had cowboy day at school and could dress up and meet "real cowboys". We live in a hick town and his school was having an assembly about the cowboy way , or having character. Yes, Lincoln's bib is purplish, but it says I Love my Sister so it's ok :) Cute big boy outfit Auntie Jackie got Lincoln, while sticking out his tongue. I think it looks like a little pickle. Weird, another tongue shot, he does it a lot. While playing with a plush orange (like the fruit) it sort of landed like this and I thought it looked a little like a bikini top and snapped a pic. Hey you have to have fun with life right?

Overnight Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls

I've been tweaking this overnight sourdough cinnamon roll recipe over the last few months and I think it's finally, exactly, the way I like it. We love this for slow weekend mornings, to take to family and friends, or for special holiday get togethers. It's also the same recipe I use when making them to sell locally. I've been keeping it under wraps for no reason in particular but it's just too good not to share. I don't have a reliable kitchen scale so this recipe uses good old fashion cups and goes a lot by the feeling of the dough. It will get messy but don't be discouraged if it doesn't turn out just right the first time. No matter the flop, these cinnamon rolls will never disappoint taste wise. What the Happenings

Lincoln tried out Play-Doh for the first time a while ago. He really liked breaking it up into tiny pieces and trying to put it back in the container. And he didn't try to put it in his mouth too many times. As you can tell by the picture he got tired out from all the creativity pretty quickly so we'll try it again when he has a little more vigor for the squishy stuff. I think this picture is from our drive over to Richland a few weeks ago. We headed over there to visit Shane's grandma and the a bbq at his brothers house. The kids love pictures of themselves and Danielle took this picture of the both of them. Waiting to get Shane's winter tires on the jeep, Lincoln had fun checking out the giant tires at Les Schwab.
