Instincts are Taking Over

As nutty as it is making me, I am thankful for my nesting instincts... otherwise I don't think much would be getting done around here. I'm feeling a little like a cold is coming on (could also just be my body reacting to waking up at 3am twice this week and the inability to not go back to sleep) and Lincoln has been sneezing like a maniac so we decided to stay home from church today and actually take a day of rests and naps. In my head all I want to do is finish making all of the freezer meals I have written down on a list but I have decided for the sake of my aching back and feet, two days of it is enough so far. I will continue to double (or triple) meals in the next two weeks that will freeze well, but I have a good stockpile so far. Freezer cooking post to come in the next few weeks. Luckily cleaning the house has pretty much been taken care of although there are a few pesky spots behind closed doors that are nagging me (the coat closet and under the kitchen sink come to mind) so maybe those will be taken care of soon.
We had a couple of doctor appointments in the last week and everyone is doing really well. Baby Warner is growing well and I am up 18 lbs overall. Most women are supposed to gain 25-30 lbs during their pregnancy so it looks like I'm doing the right thing. With Dylan I gained almost 50 and with Lincoln only 15 so I guess it doesn't really matter that much in the end anyway. Lincoln also had a doctor appointment to check on his weight gain. From one year to his one and a half year check up he hadn't gained any weight (although he was growing taller and eating fine). He also had some poop issues so we wanted to see if him drinking more milk and water helped too. So at his doctor's recommendation we cut out most of the fruit juice he was drinking all day long and he gained almost 2 pounds in a month.  Shane also got tested for celiacs because he's had stomach issues all his life he can remember but thankfully it came back negative so we don't think Lincoln has it either.

  1. You know, when you had Dylan, you were still very young and your body was developing, so it's natural that you gained more with him. Glad to know Linc and Shane are ok.

Keeping up with the Sadlers

Lincoln favorite new past time, listen closely for "Dada"  Dylan had cowboy day at school and could dress up and meet "real cowboys". We live in a hick town and his school was having an assembly about the cowboy way , or having character. Yes, Lincoln's bib is purplish, but it says I Love my Sister so it's ok :)  Cute big boy outfit Auntie Jackie got Lincoln, while sticking out his tongue. I think it looks like a little pickle. Weird, another tongue shot, he does it a lot. While playing with a plush orange (like the fruit) it sort of landed like this and I thought it looked a little like a bikini top and snapped a pic. Hey you have to have fun with life right?

Soaking it all In

Because I have a bad habit of zoning out when the tv is on, I've turned it off and told myself it can't come on until a rerun of a show I wanted to see comes on at 11. I can't stay up late so I'm trying to watch shows that will rerun, which is most of them outside of the basic cable channels. So obviously instead of working on my homework about Intercultural Crossings in Indian Music while Lincoln is taking a nap, I'm on here updating you on the trivial matters of my day. A friend told me an interesting revelation the other day. "When you have a child that is an infant you are the most physically exhausted. When you have a child that is just entering school aged you are the most mentally exhausted. When you have a teenager you are the most emotionally exhausted." So the way I see it, since I have one in each category I'm basically the most exhausted I'm going to get and since I'm seeming to do ok, it's only going to get easier from here. Y...

New Moves

So I officially started feeling the baby moving around this week, Tuesday to be exact, and now I feel dancing all the time. It's pretty weird because it has been so long since I've housed a fetus and I know no one else can feel it from the outside, but it's really real. The picture I took on the left shows me holding a photo of a 17week baby to scale. It's hard to imagine something that big is fitting inside of me already :) We had the "Mom" talk today inside the Dollar Store. Danielle asked me if it was ok if she could call me Mom. She says I treat her the way a mom should treat her daughter and that made me so proud. I am so glad that even though we have our daily and weekly ups and downs that our family unit is really coming together.
