It's like I'm on Vacation!

After an afternoon of running errands all over town we finally pull into our driveway. What a relief. Right now we are going through the phase where anytime we go into a store, Dylan thinks he is entitled to get some new toy or something else. He's gotten the "money doesn't grow on trees" lecture and the "we only need 2 things at this store" speech but we're still working on it. Distraction worked today when I kept him in the cart seat and brought along animal crackers but then again we were actually there to look for new sweatpants for this ever-growing boy. Anyway I'll call it a successful shopping excursion. Ok so there we are, unloading all the bags (2) and getting the bottles and cans we picked up along the way. We need to check the mail before going inside so Dylan runs ahead. "There's Mail!" He exclaims. Of course I know this means that yes there is mail, but it is way too far in the back for him to reach, or there is too much, or some other reason that I always have to retrieve it even if he says he is going to. On the way back I am still holding the bags (2), the water bottle and pop can, his blanket (which somehow made it into the truck), my overloaded purse, and now the mail. As we walk back to the house he is skipping and gleefully yells, "Look Mom, you are carrying everything and I am holding nothing. It's like I'm on Vacation"

Keeping up with the Sadlers

Lincoln favorite new past time, listen closely for "Dada"  Dylan had cowboy day at school and could dress up and meet "real cowboys". We live in a hick town and his school was having an assembly about the cowboy way , or having character. Yes, Lincoln's bib is purplish, but it says I Love my Sister so it's ok :)  Cute big boy outfit Auntie Jackie got Lincoln, while sticking out his tongue. I think it looks like a little pickle. Weird, another tongue shot, he does it a lot. While playing with a plush orange (like the fruit) it sort of landed like this and I thought it looked a little like a bikini top and snapped a pic. Hey you have to have fun with life right?

Soaking it all In

Because I have a bad habit of zoning out when the tv is on, I've turned it off and told myself it can't come on until a rerun of a show I wanted to see comes on at 11. I can't stay up late so I'm trying to watch shows that will rerun, which is most of them outside of the basic cable channels. So obviously instead of working on my homework about Intercultural Crossings in Indian Music while Lincoln is taking a nap, I'm on here updating you on the trivial matters of my day. A friend told me an interesting revelation the other day. "When you have a child that is an infant you are the most physically exhausted. When you have a child that is just entering school aged you are the most mentally exhausted. When you have a teenager you are the most emotionally exhausted." So the way I see it, since I have one in each category I'm basically the most exhausted I'm going to get and since I'm seeming to do ok, it's only going to get easier from here. Y...

New Moves

So I officially started feeling the baby moving around this week, Tuesday to be exact, and now I feel dancing all the time. It's pretty weird because it has been so long since I've housed a fetus and I know no one else can feel it from the outside, but it's really real. The picture I took on the left shows me holding a photo of a 17week baby to scale. It's hard to imagine something that big is fitting inside of me already :) We had the "Mom" talk today inside the Dollar Store. Danielle asked me if it was ok if she could call me Mom. She says I treat her the way a mom should treat her daughter and that made me so proud. I am so glad that even though we have our daily and weekly ups and downs that our family unit is really coming together.
