Oh Batman Resolutions

My boys have been super into Batman lately. Lincoln wears the full outfit at least for part of the day, every day. Yes, we have an affection for all super heros lately (maybe due to watching The Avengers, The Amazing Spiderman and The Dark Knight Rises within the recent weeks?) but specifically the boys have been pretending to be Batman. With all of their running around, stunt work and saving the day, Dylan looked at me and said "Mom, you can be Alfred. You know he cleans up and cooks all of the meals." oh lovely. So that's what I'm here for. The previously mentioned child also said that he was going to learn how to cook as his new year's resolution by helping and watching me in the kitchen more. When I asked him to help me tonight he replied, "My new year's resolution starts tomorrow." Boy oh boy. So not only does the boy have sass, I obviously need to work on getting the boys to help out more.

So officially here are my three resolutions.

1. To teach my boys how to help out more and be age appropriately responsible.

2. To be a more playful family.

3. To be on time where we need to be.

Shane's was a little more simple - swear less, pray more -

  1. Haha Dylan is so funny. Tell him you are going to be batgirl...she leads a pretty exciting life as you do.

Keeping up with the Sadlers

Lincoln favorite new past time, listen closely for "Dada"  Dylan had cowboy day at school and could dress up and meet "real cowboys". We live in a hick town and his school was having an assembly about the cowboy way , or having character. Yes, Lincoln's bib is purplish, but it says I Love my Sister so it's ok :)  Cute big boy outfit Auntie Jackie got Lincoln, while sticking out his tongue. I think it looks like a little pickle. Weird, another tongue shot, he does it a lot. While playing with a plush orange (like the fruit) it sort of landed like this and I thought it looked a little like a bikini top and snapped a pic. Hey you have to have fun with life right?

Soaking it all In

Because I have a bad habit of zoning out when the tv is on, I've turned it off and told myself it can't come on until a rerun of a show I wanted to see comes on at 11. I can't stay up late so I'm trying to watch shows that will rerun, which is most of them outside of the basic cable channels. So obviously instead of working on my homework about Intercultural Crossings in Indian Music while Lincoln is taking a nap, I'm on here updating you on the trivial matters of my day. A friend told me an interesting revelation the other day. "When you have a child that is an infant you are the most physically exhausted. When you have a child that is just entering school aged you are the most mentally exhausted. When you have a teenager you are the most emotionally exhausted." So the way I see it, since I have one in each category I'm basically the most exhausted I'm going to get and since I'm seeming to do ok, it's only going to get easier from here. Y...

New Moves

So I officially started feeling the baby moving around this week, Tuesday to be exact, and now I feel dancing all the time. It's pretty weird because it has been so long since I've housed a fetus and I know no one else can feel it from the outside, but it's really real. The picture I took on the left shows me holding a photo of a 17week baby to scale. It's hard to imagine something that big is fitting inside of me already :) We had the "Mom" talk today inside the Dollar Store. Danielle asked me if it was ok if she could call me Mom. She says I treat her the way a mom should treat her daughter and that made me so proud. I am so glad that even though we have our daily and weekly ups and downs that our family unit is really coming together.
