Second Field Trip

We took a field trip to the Kittitas County Museum here in town and we had a day of learning all about things that were found or made here in our county. We learned about the town's history and saw some pretty neat old stuff. Some of his favorite parts were looking at the piece of petrified dinosaur bone, an old army jeep, a horse and buggy ("that's what their cars looked like?"), old saddles and vehicles and even a picture of what kids looked like in the 8th grade in 1910, 100 years ago. In one of the above pictures Dylan is standing below a photograph of Shane's great grandpa (Frank Gilmour) and his brother who opened one of the first grocery stores here in town. He thought it was pretty cool to have a real connection like that to Ellensburg. After we got home we cut up brochures and maps of Ellensburg and Kittitas County and made a cool collage of what we learned about. It's going to be a BOY!

I don't have much to say today, I'll let the pictures do the talking :) He is so active and we get to see him move about, cross and uncross his legs, move his hands around, stick out his tongue and make swallowing motions, stretch his back and see his little heart beat. No extra growths or parts missing. We took both the kids with us so they got to experience it all too. I told Shane I thought it was going to be a boy but who knows how much mothers intuition is right. He is just shocked because he thought he could "only make girls." What a fun day so far.

Boy's day

Well the boys are off doing things with Shane's new jeep and hanging out with Grandpa Larry before Shane starts work later today. Dylan asked me today "How old is Daddy." I replied 37 and then he asked "But when is he going to be 20?" haha I'm not sure what he was curious about but I thought it was funny. Now I'm just home paying some bills (two credit cards paid off this week, whoohoo!!!) and watching Bringing Home Baby and a Baby Story on TLC. This baby is 21 weeks along today, the length of a banana (7.25 inches) and about 10.5 ounces. If this is accurate for mine, the baby has gained an ounce and a half in one week! Everything about this baby growing amazes me. The Dugger family (who also has a show on TLC) had their 19th baby at 24 weeks. She survived but has been in the NICU since December so it is somewhat reassuring that if something were to happen and this baby came in 4 weeks that it would still survive. But baby please give me another 12 weeks

Updates

It has been a while, yet again, but things are going well. I'm growing rapidly (so it feels like) and we get to find out the sex of the baby this week (the 25th!!!). The whole family is going, I'm sure Danielle is bummed she is going to miss her p.e. class, so that should be a good adventure. I'm at 20 weeks now, half way done with the entire process, that is so hard to believe! Right now the baby is between 5 2/3 to 6 1/2 inches long and about 9 or 10 ounces. The average length of a cantaloup, how weird. We had a fun weekend over visiting my mom and seeing my brother for a few minutes here and there. The kids got to see a fun movie called Planet 51 about an astronaut being the alien on an alien planet and we also had lunch at the park, played some card games and got to visit a bunch. We are spending this week picking up preregistration paper work for Dylan starting kindergarten next year and getting back into the swing of preschool. I've really dropped the ball on tha

bumpin

My monthly doctor's appointment got rescheduled from this morning to next week so no news there. At 18 weeks (19 on Wednesday) the baby is about the size of a sweet potato, about 5.5 inches long, wow. I can feel the baby moving around in there, especially after meal time or when I lean forward while sitting down. Maybe I'm squishing him/her. Yesterday I found out that both of my kids like radishes. Who knew? We happened to have some on hand for the Super Bowl and I made a little veggie tray and the kids just gobbled them up (with Ranch dressing of course). We had friends over for a perfectly cooked steak dinner thanks to Shane and had a good excuse to finally get the lingering Christmas decor back into the shed. Ahhh feels good to get things done.
