A moment for me!

So I can see Mt. Rainier from our backyard and I always tell my mom about it but every time she is here we forget to look for it. Anyway between feeding and holding and changing a grumpy Lincoln the other day and trying to make time for Dylan since I feel guilty because the baby is grumpy and I can't give him much time, I went outside to enjoy the sunset for a moment. Here are two pictures, taken a few seconds apart one from the deck and one from the yard. Sometimes I forget how beautiful things around me are until I look for them.

Growing too fast!

Lincoln is just growing every second I swear. He gets up from a nap and I can almost see him growing :) He has more definite sleep and awake times and I am sort of figuring out his night time routine. Other than the grunting noises he makes for about an hour before waking up in the morning, he is sleeping pretty well. Hopefully I will be too. Here is Dylan riding his bike without training wheels! It wasn't the first time since I didn't have a camera when I first saw him (although he did it once, then lost his helmet for a few days so he couldn't show me, then we finally found it) but here is his first time with me only. Way to go dude! He needs a little help starting off but otherwise he is cruising up and down the street all by himself!

Babywearing

Ha ha Dylan is getting better at taking pictures. Here is one of us taken today with Lincoln in his new sling. He went to the farmers market in it yesterday and just hung out and slept the whole time. Hopefully he keeps enjoying it so I can get some things done without holding a babe 24/7.

2 week check up

Lincoln had his two week check up at 12 days and he has already grown an inch and a quarter (21.25in) and he has gained over a pound (8 lbs)!!! He looked bigger to me but I thought it was just because I'm his mom but sure enough he really has grown. Holy cow it's amazing.

Relearning Things

Well we are doing even better than before. Lincoln is doing great and adjusting to our family well (at least I think so) and Shane and Danielle just love to love on him. I didn't include Dylan in that because he's off at grandma's house having a blast and barely even thinking of his old mom. Yes, I've had a baby before, and yes, this is my third child to take care of... but boy you kind of forget what having a newborn is like. First having a boy we really underestimated how much he will go to the bathroom. Diaper on or diaper off. The other day he peed in his diaper, on the changing table, on the carpet, on the wall, on our bed and then leaked through his diaper when we put him in his bed... all in one changing. If I hadn't seen it myself I wouldn't have believed that much could have come out of him! We also learned a lesson yesterday trying to make an errand run to Yakima. Don't take a newborn out all day when it is 103 degrees outside. No one is happy. But

Mr. Lincoln's entrance into this world

My water broke at 11:30 and we checked into the hospital at 12:03pm on 7/3/10. As we pulled into the small community hospital I joked that the parking lot looked pretty full but didn't expect all of the birthing rooms to be full! We had to start off in the waiting room for a half an hour watching contractions while they cleaned up a room for us. Score, we got one of the two "good" rooms in the birthing center. They checked me and I was at 6-7cm and I debated for a while if I wanted an epidural or just an IV medication. When I finally (15 min. later) decided that I wanted to try Stadol, an IV drug to take the edge off the pain, the nurse checked me before calling the dr to order it and I was at 9-10 cm, fully dilated. So she sped off to call the doctor to come in, it was almost time to push! I looked at my husband and with a tinge of panic in my eyes said "I'm going to have this baby without any medication!" I definitely did not plan on that. I wasn't opp
