Catchin' Up on April

I have been doing some sewing here and there and Dylan asked if he could learn how to use the sewing machine. He decided to make a little cuddle blanket for his little brother so he used the machine for most of it and then I taught him how to sew by hand as well. He did great, stayed focused and didn't even poke himself :) Dylan has been working hard at his "homeschool" and made it through two giant work books (one he got on his birthday, March 8th, so he's been working quick) and they came with certificates of completion. He is very proud to be able to count to 50 and to 100 with my help. He is also working on understanding money, time and the vowels in the alphabet. Danielle really, really, really wanted to dye her hair red for Prom (and for however long it takes to grow out) so with the help of some of her babysitting money, money from her dad and me, and mainly money from her grandma and great-aunt she was able to get exactly the hair she has been dying for. Little Teacher

I think Dylan is going through a growth spurt or something because he has been very argumentative and grumpy and sleeping more. Anyway I was reminding him (probably more like yelling at him) to stop jumping on the furniture and he replied: "Remember Mom, you're working on your patience." I think he thinks that gives him a free ticket to do whatever he wants. I had to laugh. Then I reminded him that he was working on listening the first time so I guess we are even.

Week 29

Week 29, who ever thought I would finally be here. Crazy to think I have been pregnant and only a handfull of weeks left before we get to meet out little boy. This morning when we were laying in bed before the loathed alarm clock went off for a second time and Shane put his hand on my belly. Little boy kept kicking and moving around and doing a little morning dance. Pretty weird to think I won't be kept awake by kicks and punches for much longer but a screaming, needy infant. Just trying to prep myself. Little boy is now about 2 3/4 pounds and about 16 1/2 inches long. Dylan was about 19 inches long when he was born but 6.15 pounds so close in length but much heavier. Little boy has some pounds to pack on!

cha cha cha changes

Well what do you think? Pretty close for doing it myself! I got my hair cut professionally a few weeks ago and decided that I still wanted to go shorter and finally today was the day. Dylan got a buzz cut and the dog is next, watch out!

28 weeks

Well Dylan is turning into quite the little photographer. He took this one of me yesterday at just under 28 weeks. I also found several more of the dog and the floor and his backpack from when I was taking a nap so maybe he needs some more practice :) Danielle had her first softball game yesterday (a double header, 2 away games) and she played well. She was out in Right field and was at bat once. Her first home game is next week so Dylan and I are so excited to see her play. She only has one day when her games are on the weekend so that is all that Shane will get to see her play so we are making sure that we are at the only other 2 home games on week days. BTW she is having a tournament on May 8th in Royal (where ever that is!) like a 3 game all day thing. We are busy busy busy these weekends coming up. We don't have a single Saturday where something isn't planned, crazy! Some of these things are fun, like camping, baby showers and visiting our friends, but some may be a little

Silly Willies

Here is one of us being goobers, getting ready for the weekend!

Third Trimester

I figured that I would throw in a front view pic mainly because I think it's funny I don't look too pregnant from the front. But then woah I turn to the side and bam there he is. Now I know I am not as huge as I am going to get but things are starting to really get pushed around in there. Sleep is getting more uncomfortable although I am exhausted all the time. I helped babysit today for a meeting (about 14 kids!) and I was completely pooped after 2 hours. Holding a baby that is getting fussier by the minute while your stomach is poking out is not as easy as I thought. I don't know how moms who have/will have 2 under 2 do it. Thank goodness Dylan doesn't need to be picked up much anymore. So that being said I am 27 weeks today and according to most sources, my third trimester starts today! Wow I can't believe we are this far into it already. I think this baby is going to be a tricky one because he will be kicking and moving around like crazy and as soon as I get Sha

Nursing Cover

Well I finally made it out to Joanne Fabric to pick up the material to make the nursing cover of my dreams. For less than $12 I made this perfect little privacy maker. One side is brown with light green/forest green/cream swirls and the other side is a light green flannel fabric. I also made the neck strap attached with buttons for easy washing if it were to get dirty. I'm still trying to decide what to do with the left over fabric: burp cloth, boppy cover, I just don't know.
