Into the Double Digits!!

Well I'm just chugging along. Fighting off a horrible cold for over a week now so I know I'll have to get better soon. Shane brought home some Emercen-C last night and I've just been trying to rest the last few days so some time soon I will be back on my game. Today I am at 26 weeks, only 98 days to go as long as I go full term. At my ultrasound on Monday the baby is measuring great (even though my uterus is small :( ) and he weighs 1lb 12oz and yes I confirmed he is still a boy! Dylan and I had a fun day in Yakima checking out Target baby stuff and buying material to make a nursing cover. I registered online and wanted to make sure that what I put on there is actually what I want in real life. I keep going back and making sure that everything on there is really what I want since the value of a dollar is so crazy these days. I've been hungry all day long so at least I should be packing on the pounds now and finally fitting into normal pregnancy pants. At 26 weeks I feel

week 25 sickness and blues

Well I am over 25 weeks now. Potentially in 10 weeks little Mr. could be here. I am starting to feel like I need to get everything together and to finalize things but in reality there is still a lot of time and I am not in charge of the world. I am waiting on a call back from the hospital about a refresher child birth class which will be some weekend in May and after I know that date then I can let my friend know so she can plan the shower. I'm also waiting patiently to talk about baby names. I've come up with my final list but somehow something always comes up and the discussion changes directions. We've got the middle and last name figured out (although Dylan keeps telling me that the baby's last name should be Knight). This weekend hopefully we will have a date night on Saturday and I'll get some undivided attention to talk about all the things we used to talk about :) I've been fighting off a sore throat/cold for a few days now and just felt out of it so t

24 week pic

wow... all belly. Forgot to include 24 week picture in the last entry.

St. Patrick's Day

Dylan loves holidays so of course we have to go all out for St. Patrick's day. We made some crazy clover headbobbers and Dylan has had fun pinching anything that isn't wearing green. He's green head to toe and is looking forward to green soup for dinner (no corn beef and cabbage for us this year, split pea soup is 10x cheaper for our little budget). On an unrelated note I am 24 weeks today. Vitality Day they call it. The baby's chance of surviving if born this early goes up about 60-80% at 24 weeks. I know it is way too early to want to meet this little guy yet, but knowing that is something were to happen unexpectedly that his chances are so much higher is reassuring. The baby is about 1 1/4 pounds now and his body is around 8 1/2 inches long on average. I got a surprise call from a good friend yesterday offering to throw me/us/the baby a shower :) I am just so excited. Any reason to talk about the baby I am there.

Sizes and Measures

I had my 24 week check up (a few days early) and I actually gained five pounds. I couldn't be more excited! The one time in my life I shall celebrate for the scale going up. The baby's heartbeat sounds strong and my blood pressure and everything is good so that is reassuring but I'm measuring smaller than I should at this point (my uterus) so they are going to do another ultrasound in 2 weeks just to make sure the little guy is growing right on target. Hopefully he is just trying to stay small to make the delivery easier :) Either way he seems to be moving around like crazy and getting bigger. I was laying on my side the other day and felt him on both sides of my tummy so I know he is getting pretty long too. We got a free bouncer chair and travel swing today from another mom in town and surprisingly Dylan is so excited about it. He has both in his room right now for quiet time playing with stuffed animal "babies". Pretending they are sleeping or eating or watchin

Starting the day off right...

Because I have forgotten everything lately here is Dylan's latest quote: I was making breakfast this morning, fried eggs and toast with jelly, trying to enjoy my "small" cup of coffee for the day, ready to sit down to eat since I am starving and he asked me to cut up his eggs and toast. I get up and reluctantly do it and then he asks for some juice to go with breakfast. I respond with "What, do you think I am your slave?" (as you can tell the coffee hadn't started working yet) and he replied "No. Mom you're not my slave, you are my servant."

Thursday Ramblings

We were sitting down eating lunch and Dylan was trying to slurp down his noodles rather than chew them and I said, "You are being silly." He responded with, "Come on Mom, I'm your son. Remember I'm still young." Haha, oh man he is growing up too fast.

23 weeks

Well my favorite number is 23, so maybe this week will be lucky :) The baby is about a pound now in weight and growing longer by the second.

Dylan is 5!!

Dylan just had his birthday party this weekend and according to him, it was his best party ever! He had a deer hunting theme party and tons of friends and family were there to help him celebrate. Uncle Josh and Grandma Cheryl stayed the night The boys in their camo Blowing out his target birthday cake! Dylan and Danielle helping to make the cake the night before :)

Week 22 and growing

So here we are at 22 weeks and growing. The baby is growing quickly and he is just so fun to wonder about. On average for the next month, the baby will grow between 10.5-12 inches and 13-20.8oz. " Watch what you say -- baby is now able to hear outside noise from down in the womb. Studies show that baby finds gentle music and your own voice most soothing. Nipples are starting to sprout, and that little face is fully formed. And, baby's starting to settle into sleep cycles, snoozing about 12 to 14 hours a day. " So exciting. Today Dylan and I were reading a book about the food pyramid and naming names of fruit and vegetables and he was going through pretty well. Broccoli, carrots, corn... olive garden, cucumbers. Wait go back there one second did you catch that? Haha Dylan thought the cauliflower was olive garden. I'm not sure what he was talking about at the time but I thought it was hilarious!! Maybe it was one of those things that you had to be there for it to be f
