Yesterday was one of those days. Lincoln was really grumpy yesterday, whining, scowling and taking an extra nap. Maybe he's growing, not feeling great or becoming a terrible two year old... I don't know. He's also started throwing things when he is mad. I know I have to stop that one before it gets out of hand, yikes. Needless to say I was already dealing with my raising agitation levels when later that evening I ended up giving Dylan a hair cut and it did not turn out like he planned. I gave him the usual cut with the fancy new hair cutting system that my dad gave me as a Christmas present but apparently after the fact he actually wanted a swoopy to the side hair cut like some of the older kids on the Disney channel have. He actually cried about hair. I thought since I only have boys at home now I would avoid that situation but I guess not. Next time I will have to youtube some videos on how to actually achieve that look. Then as he was showering off Lincoln had a melt down because he wanted to take a bath too. This was at 7:08. 8 minutes after I wanted to have Dylan in bed already. Shane wasn't home yet and everyone was crying. I just wanted to melt into a puddle on the floor. Unfortunately I can barely touch my toes let alone puddle so I just laid down on the couch and waited for it to end. Fortunately it did and today is a new day.
Because I didn't download any pictures for a while, and then it was after Christmas and things got wild for a while I kind of skipped over the actual holiday so several weeks late, here is how we spent our Christmas. I didn't get any pictures when we were over at Shane's family's house but we spent lots of time over there too. All four kids in one picture together! Warner kind of blends into the tree skirt but his little baldish head stands out. Luckily the matching pajamas I bought for the boys last year still fit too. Head lamps for spying on Santa. Opening presents was a daunting task for Lincoln. I think this was when he realized asking only for a "princess and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich" wasn't the best of ideas. Don't worry he got plenty spoiled. The messy aftermath. Lincoln playing in his new tiny little kitchen. My brother and dad at our house. My mom and brother decorating a giant gingerbread...
Shani...just try to remember that when the kids melt down like that, it's NOT your fault. The lesson for Dylan is he needs to tell you what he wants in a haircut BEFORE you start. Right?
ReplyDeleteI love you sweetie.... and despite the tears, you are a GREAT mom.
Love you sis! Yup, today is a new day and it will be better! ! :)
ReplyDeleteGood outlook on things Shani. I remember the time when I was at my wits end and you, Jax, and Josh put a hedge of protection around me:)You were probably Dylan's age when you circled up the wagons:) Love you and you're in my prayers every day. Mama
ReplyDeleteToday everyone cried but because they needed icepacks for various injuries. Luckily things can go in and out of control but that is life.
