Meal Plan Monday

With Shane going back to work today I changed up our menu plan a little (ok, a lot) from what I posted at the beginning of the month, but schedules changed, I got tired and came up with some leftover and easier meal nights and so here is what I plan on making this week. Also have I mentioned I am obsessed with food? Yes it's true but I will post on that another time.
With Shane gone for dinners again, me becoming increasingly bigger (33 1/2 weeks in!), and trying to come up with a new engaging schedule for Lincoln I am going to try to utilize my new crock pot more and work on meal prep work while Lincoln is sleeping. The pre-meal-time-melt-down-I-want-munchies-and-Mom part of the day definitely makes me feel defeated so I am going to try to be more intentional with that. I had wanted to try to get all the prep work done on Sunday afternoon but it was too nice and sunny so we went for a walk as a family, met some new adorable neighbors (why couldn't they live next to us?) and played out in the back yard for a lot longer than planned.  Then I was too tired and we didn't get Lincoln down for a second nap and they we had the fun time I mentioned earlier. So I'm going to try to avoid that the rest of the week.

Monday: Honey Sauced Chicken served over rice with carrot and cabbage slaw (crockpot)
Tuesday: Mozzarella Meatballs and Spaghetti
Wednesday: Baked Chicken, salad and brown rice pilaf
Thursday:Beef Stew with veggies and homemade crusty bread (crockpot)
Friday: Tacos!
Saturday: Sweet and spicy marinated steak with sweet potato fries and spinach salad
Sunday: Hubbies choice

Keeping up with the Sadlers

Lincoln favorite new past time, listen closely for "Dada"  Dylan had cowboy day at school and could dress up and meet "real cowboys". We live in a hick town and his school was having an assembly about the cowboy way , or having character. Yes, Lincoln's bib is purplish, but it says I Love my Sister so it's ok :)  Cute big boy outfit Auntie Jackie got Lincoln, while sticking out his tongue. I think it looks like a little pickle. Weird, another tongue shot, he does it a lot. While playing with a plush orange (like the fruit) it sort of landed like this and I thought it looked a little like a bikini top and snapped a pic. Hey you have to have fun with life right?

Soaking it all In

Because I have a bad habit of zoning out when the tv is on, I've turned it off and told myself it can't come on until a rerun of a show I wanted to see comes on at 11. I can't stay up late so I'm trying to watch shows that will rerun, which is most of them outside of the basic cable channels. So obviously instead of working on my homework about Intercultural Crossings in Indian Music while Lincoln is taking a nap, I'm on here updating you on the trivial matters of my day. A friend told me an interesting revelation the other day. "When you have a child that is an infant you are the most physically exhausted. When you have a child that is just entering school aged you are the most mentally exhausted. When you have a teenager you are the most emotionally exhausted." So the way I see it, since I have one in each category I'm basically the most exhausted I'm going to get and since I'm seeming to do ok, it's only going to get easier from here. Y...

New Moves

So I officially started feeling the baby moving around this week, Tuesday to be exact, and now I feel dancing all the time. It's pretty weird because it has been so long since I've housed a fetus and I know no one else can feel it from the outside, but it's really real. The picture I took on the left shows me holding a photo of a 17week baby to scale. It's hard to imagine something that big is fitting inside of me already :) We had the "Mom" talk today inside the Dollar Store. Danielle asked me if it was ok if she could call me Mom. She says I treat her the way a mom should treat her daughter and that made me so proud. I am so glad that even though we have our daily and weekly ups and downs that our family unit is really coming together.
